The "Good Ole Days"
The "Good Ole Days"
Have come and gone
But when was that I ask
When nothing at all was wrong
There was peace in the valley
Love prevailed in the home
People were free to play
There was no dangers at all
The law was your friend
The enemy didn't exist
All things were right
Within your midst
The government was honest
The teachers were fair
The grocer knew you by name
And the doctor was always there
The neighbors were helpful
The streets were alive
With vendors and salesmen
Selling "the best" to survive
Gentlemen doffed their hats
Ladies all wore a smile
All dressed in their "Sunday Best"
When they ventured outside
Was the "Good Ole Days" real
Or just a fond memory
Of someone who's imagination
Forgets the true reality
Of life
