Summer "Fun"



I hear summer described as lazy and hazy
Have I missed the boat or is it that I'm crazy


I still have to work 40 hours a week
And mow my lawn so it will look neat


Our bellies still fold up into a hungry knot
Which means someone (who me?) still has to shop


Dirty dishes await after each meal
The kids want attention and are at my heels


The dog needs a bath he smells like a skunk
The house is all littered with thrown aside junk


There's mending and ironing, polishing and all
Please what's the difference between summer and fall!




But I love each moment wouldn't trade it for the world
My job as wife and mom is the best in the world


The rewards are many and my treasure is won
When one of my children says, "I love you mom"


Or when hubby comes home from a day hard won
And joins me in the "summer fun"


Yes...summer's described as lazy and hazy
But not for me...and no I'm not really crazy


Just crazy in love with my family
